BCN3D Epsilon is an industrial 3D printer for large parts from industrial grade materials with an IDEX system with a working area of 420mm x 300mm x 400mm
BCN3D is one of the leading manufacturers of desktop 3D printers in the world.
The Barcelona-based BCN3D business began in 2012 and its main goal is to improve the quality of prototyping and production by providing reliable, versatile and easy-to-use products to enable clients to implement all technological benefits for their companies. The Epsilon model was first presented at the FormNext 2019 fair in Frankfurt am Main, its appearance ushered in a new era of access to industrial additive manufacturing technologies at an affordable price.
Designed to allow professionals to continue innovating, the new Epsilon 3D printer is the most advanced, reliable and precise 3D printer manufactured by BCN3D. Industrial construction guarantees unsurpassed performance during both prototyping and production of final machine parts and components in production halls.
Based on the capabilities of Sigma and Sigmax desktop 3D printers, BCN3D is proud to present a new generation of machines combining higher performance, industrial grade reliability and full access to trouble-free everyday work. This complete professional 3D printing solution has been developed to enable innovators - from manufacturers to engineers and designers - to easily create functional parts, prototypes, production instruments and tools; and everything you can imagine with the best performance.
BCN3D Epsilon is a 3D printer working in the technology of applying subsequent layers of molten plastic (FFF) ideal for the workshop environment, suitable for use in prototyping and production of small batches using the most advanced materials. Thanks to IDEX technology, large volume (over 50 liters of capacity) as well as duplication and mirroring mode, BCN3D Epsilon is able to provide technological solutions for many different industry segments.
BCN3D Epsilon is the latest model of an industrial 3D printer with a system of two independent extruders (IDEX), which enables high-resolution 3D printing - using many materials.
BCN3D printers use the IDEX system, which allows each of the two printheads to move in the X axis completely independently of each other. Two independent heads allow, among others, printing in duplicate and mirroring modes, and their effect is a significant reduction in design and production time.
Epsilon is perfect for:
The unique system of two independent IDEX extruders allows you to print simultaneously from two different materials or colors, while providing the best surface finish quality.
While one head prints, the other idle remains parked, which prevents molten plastic from dripping onto the printout.
Create functional parts by combining the properties of two different materials, such as rigid and flexible filaments, or enhance your designs by printing in two different colors.
Avoid geometrical constraints and print the most difficult parts thanks to soluble supports. Just immerse the model in water and watch the brackets disappear.
Thanks to the IDEX system BCN3D Epsilon W50 offers two new, very efficient printing modes.
IDEX allows double acceleration of printing compared to conventional 3D printers, it is also possible to print the same model simultaneously from two different colors and materials.
It allows you to print two identical models using both heads, resulting in double the efficiency. Thus, we obtain twice as high performance as in the case of standard single-head printers.
It allows you to print two models simultaneously in a mirror image so that not only the printing time but also the design itself is shortened.
The Epsilon BCN3D printer uses hotends enhanced and manufactured by e3D and Bondtech extruders - global specialists.
The extruder, taking material from the spool, passes it through the sensor, which will stop the current printout when the material runs out. Then the filament goes to the e3D hotend, where it is melted and deposited with the highest precision one by one, layer by layer.
Epsilon's hotendes have been carefully redesigned by e3D ™ to provide the smoothest and most reliable extrusion than ever before. Depending on the needs and the specifics of the model - hotends with 0.4mm, 0.6mm, 0.8mm and 1mm diameter nozzles and a special hardened Hotend X 0.6mm head are available.
Hotends from e3D due to the unique design are characterized by a much higher temperature stability so that we can enjoy higher precision and reduced number of visual artifacts on the print.
The extruders in BCN3D printers are equipped with advanced Bondtech ™ dual drives that provide greater control over material feeding, sharper details and excellent performance, regardless of the filament used.
Metal Pack enables rapid prototyping and final metal production using 3D printing. This method is a perfect alternative or complement to classic MIM and CNC technologies, offering similar mechanical properties and much greater design freedom.
The Metal Pack will contain one spool of Ultrafuse® 316L (3kg) and one Ultrafuse® 17-4PH (3kg), a dedicated Magigoo 316L adhesive that is also compatible with the 17-4PH material, two new Hotends M and new brass nozzle wipers for metal.
The 3D BCN3D Epsilon 3D printer has a 5 "color touch screen with which all device operation is performed. The attractive and intuitive interface is equipped with advanced features and wizards that guide the user step by step through the processes of calibration, printing and maintenance.
The spacious working chamber allows filaments to be placed inside the printer, it is also possible to use 2 and 4kg spools.
The inside of the printer is illuminated with LEDs so that we have a constant preview of the 3D printing process. The glass work platform has attachments that allow it to be removed from the printer in just a few seconds.
A mechanical filament end sensor will alert the user in time if the material on the spool runs out, the printout will be paused and then restarted when new material is loaded. Mechanical sensors guarantee full reliability and maintaining printing continuity - even with large and long 3D prints - regardless of the type and color of the fiber used.
The Epsilon BCN3D printer supports the following materials: PLA, ABS, PET-G, TPU, Nylon, PVA (water-soluble support filament) PP, PAHT CF15 (nylon with carbon fiber composite), PP GF30 (polypropylene composite with fiberglass), all kinds of other composites . Thanks to the open material policy you can also use filaments from any other manufacturer.
BCN3D 3D printers are characterized by incredible surface finish quality and faithful reproduction of details. The heads working in the IDEX system have nozzle cleaning carriage so that the two-color and dual-material prints are perfectly clean and the colors do not mix.
The printer comes with the dedicated BCN3D Stratos software, which supports the process of preparing models for 3D printing. The program converts a digital 3D model into a set of instructions understandable to a 3D printer. This complex process has been carefully optimized and tested to work with BCN3D printers, as a result of which the user enjoys error-free and reliable 3D prints.
The BCN3D Stratos easily uses all the advantages of the IDEX system: in addition to the key functions such as duplication and mirror - it is possible to combine multi-material models, generate support structures, and even reduce printing time by using hotends with different nozzle sizes while printing simultaneously.
The software includes a set of ready-made print profiles for all manufacturer's materials supported by the printer. The software license provides for the possibility to run on any number of computers.
