Filament IGUS iglidur® I170-PF

IGUS filaments are stable and wear-resistant materials made of high-performance plastics and glides. Tribopolymer fibers used to make filaments are up to 50 times more resistant to abrasion than standard 3D printing materials. This allows you to create prototypes and produce small series faster and more economically.

Filamenty IGUS

Extremely high abrasion resistance guarantees a longer life for each printed object. Igus filaments are ideal for moving parts. Igus filaments have been tested mainly in terms of wear resistance, coefficient of friction but also in terms of other material properties.

The filaments are made of high-performance polymer iglidur. Depending on the material selected, it is possible to use the same iglidur material for the 3D prototype in series production. Whether you're working on prototypes or producing small series of components, you can always rely on the tested lifetime of our wear-resistant, high-performance igus plastics.

Due to their properties, IGUS filaments are ideal for all areas of application, especially for those in which good friction coefficient and very low wear are very important.

Application in the automotive industry

Two factors were taken into account when choosing the components fitted to a Formula One racing car: weight and usability. A solution was needed to mount a chassis stabilizer, whose function was to rotate both axles. This resulted in a bearing printed in a 3D printer using Igus filaments. A printed bearing can last for a year without fail.
