ideaMaker software

The Raise3D Forge1 3D printer has dedicated ideaMaker software developed specifically for working with metal-based materials. The software has developed and proven printing profiles for metal filaments that allow for easy and quick 3D printing. Unlike other FFF printing methods, printing metal parts requires a debinding and sintering process to obtain the final part. To ensure that the final part will match the intended size, the software can automatically set the part size to account for a specific print shrinkage rate. This ensures that the final size after peeling and sintering will be accurate and suitable for use.

Advanced metal-based materials

Raise3D and Forward AM collaborated closely throughout the development of the metal printing solution to enable the Raise3D Forge1 3D printer to use BASF Ultrafuse 316L and Ultrafuse 17-4 materials. BASF materials provide improved repeatability and efficiency and enable the production of small batches of metal parts while maintaining full design freedom and low costs.

BASF Ultrafuse 17-4PH filament is a chrome-nickel-copper hardened stainless steel with the addition of niobium, which is characterized by high strength and hardness. BASF Ultrafuse 316L is a chrome-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel that provides the enhanced corrosion resistance of the 304/304L alloy in moderately corrosive environments.
