The Shining3D OptimScan Q12 is a high-quality inspection 3D scanner designed for precise quality control. The Shining3D OptimScan Q12 3D scanner features monocular-stereo fusion (MSF) technology. Additionally, the OptimScan Q12 utilizes multiple exposures for improved accuracy and completes a single scan in less than 1 second. The Shining3D OptimScan Q12 has been certified for accuracy according to VDI/VDE 2634 and ISO 10360 standards.

The Shining3D OptimScan Q12 3D scanner uses blue LED light and offers an accuracy of 0.015 mm for the large range and 0.005 mm for the small range. The working distance of the OptimScan Q12 is 590 mm for the large range and 210 mm for the small range. Additionally, the field of view is 430 × 300 mm for the large range and 160 × 110 mm for the small range.

OptimScan Q systems are compact and easy to transport, enabling convenient handheld scanning. A semi-automatic mode is also available, which can be used with a tripod and an automated turntable with a load capacity of up to 20 kg, increasing measurement efficiency and repeatability. Additionally, in fully automated mode, the scanner integrates with a robot, enabling precise, repeatable inspection tasks.

Dimensional inspection of components (GD&T)

Application: Precision machined parts such as engine blocks, gearbox housings, turbine blades and braking system components.

Feature: Rapidly acquire dense measurement data (point clouds) to analyze geometric tolerances such as flatness, roundness, and positioning by comparing them with CAD models. This allows for the detection of machining errors (e.g., distortion) and ensures compliance with applicable industry standards.

Quality control of stamped parts and sheet metal components

Application: Sheet metal components formed by the stamping process, such as fenders or chassis structural parts.

Function: Surface scanning to analyze springback and optimize tooling parameters. It also enables full First Article Inspection (FAI), detecting minor ripples or cracks, thereby minimizing downstream issues such as welding or assembly.
