Nextruder - a new generation extruder

The Prusa XL features the Nextruder extruder with a dedicated processor and stepper driver directly in the print head. The Nextruder is controlled with a single cable, significantly simplifying maintenance. A new planetary gear (10:1 gear ratio) with a large, non-slip drive gear provides better material flow control and improves compatibility with flexible materials. A built-in strain gauge sensor enables fully automatic calibration – the printer measures the distance between the nozzle and the bed with high accuracy before printing, ensuring a perfect first layer every time.

Toolchanger

Toolchanger - a system for 5 independent heads

The printer can be expanded with up to 5 individual printheads, each controlled by its own electronics. The Toolchanger system features a reliable, wear-resistant mechanism and easy calibration. Using 5 heads allows you to load 5 different filaments, enabling multi-material and multi-color printing. The Nextruder and Toolchanger are designed for fast and efficient multi-material printing with minimal waste.

Segmented work table

The modular build plate consists of 16 individually controlled heating tiles, ensuring even temperature distribution across the entire surface. Double-sided spring steel print platforms are available with a variety of surface finishes to suit the material being used. A flexible, removable plate makes it easy to remove finished prints.

Print recovery after power loss

Print recovery after power loss

The Prusa XL features a power loss print recovery system. In the event of a power outage, the system stores the last extruder position. When power is restored, the printer continues printing exactly where it left off.

Advanced network features

The printer is equipped with Wi-Fi and Ethernet for remote management. Improved G-code file transfer speeds allow for faster printing.
